After about 15km, the N2 climbs steadily uphill and bears to the right. At the top of the hill the N2 forks – take the right hand fork, direction Cape Town centre (north).

After 5 km, and after passing the Holiday Inn on your left, take the Strand Street exit.

Go straight on Strand Street through 7 sets of lights (ie robots!). At the 8th set of lights (you will see the Tulip Inn on the corner) turn left into Bree Street.
The hotel is at the second set of lights, on the right hand hand side.
Park outside the entrance to the hotel. After unpacking your luggage, your car can be parked in Riebeeck Square car park, which is adjacent to the hotel.

Each of the 15 bedrooms are individually decorated and have been designed to retain the original architectural style. The floorboards are Cape Yellowwood and burnished hardwood, cut by hand and painstakingly laid down over 200 years ago. Meanwhile, sash windows reach up to high-beamed teak ceilings, and the original wall plasterwork has been preserved to showcase the original workmanship.

And it’s luxurious too.
